As part of its 10th Anniversary celebrations, the members of staff and Management of Wapic Insurance (Ghana) Limited paid a visit to the Dream Africa Care Foundation (DACF) located at Teshie- Nungua, in the Greater Accra region of Ghana.
During the visitation, the Company donated food items, medical supplies, toiletries, and personal household items to assist the major day-to-day needs of the Foundation’s Shelter for neglected children.
The goal of the Shelter’s project is to help as many neglected and less privileged children in the Greater Accra Region and the Company has been identifying with this initiative for the past 3 years.
The donation comes in as one of the means of transforming lives within the communities in which the Company has been operating for a decade and forms part of the Company’s annual Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
A short ceremony was held at the Foundation where Staff and Management of Wapic Insurance interacted with the children of the Shelter. During this interactive sessions, most of the children got to speak about themselves and what they aspire to be in future.
In presenting the items to the Foundation, the Managing Director of Wapic Insurance, Mr. Adedayo Arowojolu stated that, the Company recognizes that it has a responsibility to help build a more sustainable society as a good corporate citizen and as a company whose business is to protect people over the long term.
“We are happy to be a part of this project and to continue to invest in it as an organization. With the improvement we have seen over our visit last year, we are persuaded that the project is a good course and pledge to continue to support the Dream Africa Care Foundation to help the young ones in achieving their dreams and aspiration”, he added.
In response, Gloria Odotei of the Dream Africa Care Foundation accepted the items on behalf of the Foundation and thanked Wapic Insurance for their continued support over the years. She assured the Company that the items would be put to good use in ensuring that the lives of the children are continually enhanced.
Wapic Insurance has been in partnership with Dream Africa Care Foundation for the past 3 years and have since been committed to impacting and enriching the lives of the children of Dream Africa Care Foundation.
