KEK Re Receives Special Award From Ghana Re
KEK Reinsurance Brokers (Africa) Ltd, received a special award from Ghana Re during the 2017 Cedants Awards held at the plush Marriot Hotel in Accra.
The company was awarded for its role in the growth of Ghana Re over the period. This award is the third in succession that the company has received from the state reinsurer having beaten international reinsurance brokers to the award on the two previous occasions.
KEK Re places significant business from Ghana and the rest of Africa with Ghana Re and so has built a significant book of business that keeps growing. The company covers the Ghanaian insurance market extensively and has over time become a household name in Ghana and other parts of Africa especially in the West African Sub Region where it has clients in Sierra Leone, Gambia, Liberia, Togo, Nigeria ete.
According to the Chief Executive Officer, Shaibu Ali, the collaboration with Ghana Re has been very successful as Ghana Re is not interested in the business because of the premium income, but are quick to respond to claims when they come up. He is especially happy because Ghana Re sees their relationship with clients beyond business and would always in the face of technical difficulties look at how to meet up with clients half way.
This makes doing business with Ghana Re very reassuring. Shaibu Ali prides himself in having a strong team that is young and hungry for success and so they are always ready to go the extra mile for clients. ''At KEK Re, we keep learning new things every day and we travel the world to learn new trends for the benefit of our clients".
KEK Reinsurance Brokers (Africa) Ltd, is a 100% subsidiary of KEK Insurance Brokers Ltd and was incorporated in June 2006 by the late founder Kwesi Essel- Koomson to fill a vacuum he identified in Ghana and the sub region where there was a need for domestic reinsurance brokers.
Twelve years on, the vision of the founder to capture the' whole of Africa is on course according to Shaibu Ali.
